Dear Catherine, and all members...
Catherine has done us a major service by pointing out what I had
missed: one of our regular posters for job ads here has in fact turned
out to be nothing but a variation on a traditional scam from Nigeria.
Some research of other websites provided this information.
I have removed and banned the offender. I will remove all his postings
from this list, and I may ask Yahoo! to look into this cause of
Identity Fraud, etc, too. I hope that he has his Yahoo! Profile
Terminated.
However, vigilance on all our parts remains our only weapon against
scammers online. I wish we could vet all the posters who join the
group properly for such activity, but it has proved impossible to do
so. I have managed to stop a few in their tracks, but alas! some did
get through.
Keep safe on the Internet,
Best Wishes
