I heard a rumor that teachers in Taiwan will require a TESOL cert. to renew ARCs in the near future. I have no link, it is something that one school owner told me in Taipei, they do however run their own TESOL program and are trying to force their teachers to take the course, is there any truth to this? They may be just be selling their program.

It could really change the landscape in Taiwan.

I personally think such a plan would be unworkable in the short term, though it may apply in the elementary schools ( a most likely scenario, since it would be much easier to enforce ).
