Dear Tesolteachers members,

I guess that most of you working in Tesol around the world would be aware of the 'study abroad' industry.  By placing students into educational institutions abroad (as an agent for that institution) you can earn commissions from language schools and universities (and often charge the student a consulting fee as well).

Its not easy and there are many things to consider (depending on what country you are in) - but it can be a change from teaching (or some extra income on the side).

I have started a website called www.AgentsChat.com (in the same PHPBB  format as Tesolteachers) .  It is an online discussion forum where you can discuss the study abroad industry with education agents and education providers around the world (the forum is not for students)

You can also view school profiles and special offers from education providers (Language schools and other institutions) around the world.

The special offers are for Agentschat.com members (if you mention the website at the time of enrolling a student).

If you are involved with student recruitment for schools abroad or are thinking about it this website could be a useful tool for you.

To read and post on my forums you need to register and I will then need to authorise your membership.  So email me on admin@agentschat.com after you have registered and let me know that you are a Tesolteachers member and I will authorise it (usually within 24 hours).

I hope you find the site useful.

Sincerely
Steve Sutherland
